Heather is a Lecturer at the Open University. She is currently working on her first book, ‘Hairwork in Victorian Literature and Culture: Matter, Form, Craft’, which is based on her PhD thesis and explores how the crafting of objects out of human hair came to shape and frame bodies, identities and relationships in the Victorian imagination, with a focus on the writings of the Brontës, Wilkie Collins, and Margaret Oliphant.
