Hollie Geary-Jones is a third year PhD candidate and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Chester. Her thesis titled ‘The Nineteenth-Century Sex Worker in Fact and Fiction: Infectious Performance and Dressing the Self’ examines the extent to which French and English sex workers were able to mislead society by subverting stereotypes to clothing, body, and behaviour.
