Dr Sarah Wride is an Associate Member of the University of York’s English and Related Literature Department. Her doctoral dissertation explored the impact of parliamentary reform debate upon critical comparisons between the writer and the House of Commons legislator, rival agents of real-world change, 1776-1831. Sarah’s wider research interests include ‘long’ nineteenth-century reform politics, theatrical culture, gothic writing, crime fiction and true crime writing, and Neo-Victorianism.
