Ruth-Anne Walbank is a PhD candidate at the University of Warwick, researching ecological hellscapes in the long nineteenth century. With a background in eco-theology in education following her time as a research associate at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, alongside her specialism in Gothic literature from her MA at Lancaster University, her work uncovers the intersections of theology and environments in popular culture. Her other research interests include nineteenth-century women’s writing, feminist geographies, and Gothic theologies. Ruth also co-founded the creative writing programme, the Literary Lancashire Award, has organised conferences such as ‘EDI for the Modern University’, and works as the Reviews Editor for Fantastika journal. |
