POSTDOCTORAL REPRESENTATIVE, 2024-
University of Birmingham
Emily Vincent is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in English at the University of Birmingham researching narratives of disease and the Gothic in the nineteenth and twentieth century. Her first monograph project explores how women navigate maternal grief in fin-de-siècle ghost stories by examining child loss, spiritualism, and maternity. Her current research is part of the Media and Epidemics project, within which she analyses imaginative representations of influenza in nineteenth- and twentieth-century British periodicals and fiction.
