Research interests:
I am a PhD student approaching my final year, combining the disciplines of history and genealogy. My research explores the women who were involved in the Temperance Movement in Britain during the late 19th and early 20th century and their relationship with their counterparts in the northern States of America.
As a genealogist I am interested in discovering more about the roles, campaigns and missions these women undertook and their family histories. My approach is to include a series of hidden lived experiences through storytelling, and to explore themes of feminism, religion, politics and social networks.
An output from my research is to create a website educational resource about the wider temperance movement, which is currently in progress.
