Research interests:
My research explores visual and material culture in the long nineteenth century, with a particular interest in the movement of imagery and copies in multiple media. Working across media as diverse as glass, wood, ceramics, cast iron, embroidery and prints, my research shows the role played by under-represented makers and the formation of popular canons outside of the academy.
I completed my PhD in 2025 at the University of York. During my PhD studies, I also undertook a range of teaching as a graduate teaching assistant in the department and as a course tutor for the Centre for Lifelong Learning.
I am currently an honorary research associate of the History of Art department at the University of York. I am also passionate about widening access to culture, and currently work as Community Participation Manager for York Museums Trust.
