Dear BAVS Members and Friends,
Bidding has opened!
The BAVS Books (and other stuff) Fundraising Auction is now open, with items from £5 books and poetry grab bags to original art, training sessions, lectures, and crafts, all donated by members of the nineteenth-century studies community to support our hardship grants. Bidding will run until August 7, 2021, via GoogleSheet:
Please take a look at the listed items, bid generously, check back regularly, and share widely! If you feel so inspired to add a cheeky item to the lots, please do! If nothing on the list catches your eye but you’re in a position to donate, we’re extremely grateful for contributions to the ongoing JustGiving effort, linked here and on the auction page.
This fundraiser goes to support our most precarious and at-risk peers, friends, and students. In the past year we have given twenty grants totalling £8000 to students and early career researchers impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 situation and with your support, we can continue to disburse money to those who need it most.
If you have any questions at all, or wish to bid or contribute anonymously, please do not hesitate to be in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org or another board member.
With very best wishes for your health and a relaxing summer,
Postdoctoral Representative 2019-2022
