BAVS@Home: Victorian Valentines with Dr Alice Crossley

Monday 8 March, 17.15 (GMT)

The British Association for Victorian Studies (BAVS) is delighted to announce BAVS@Home – a series of public-facing online talks, panel events, and Q&As taking place in 2021.

The first event in this series is scheduled for Monday 8 March at 17.15 (GMT) and explores the fascinating world of Victorian Valentine cards. Presented by Dr Alice Crossley (University of Lincoln) and hosted by Dr Claire Wood (University of Leicester), this richly illustrated talk will examine sentimental, comic, and cruel examples from the Victorian Valentine tradition.

The event is free to attend for all current BAVS members (just select a ‘General Admission (registered BAVS members)’ ticket when booking). For non-members, the registration fee is £5. Booking is essential.
